Course Overview

NuLaw is accredited by SASSETA (Safety and Security SETA), PFTC (Professional Firearms Trainers Council) and the SAPS (South African Police Services) to offer Skills Programs in Firearms. All qualifications obtained under this training are SAQA and SASSETA quality assured.

Our firearms training program takes learners through the various Sections and Regulations of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, ensuring you gain the knowledge to effectively and legally know when, where and how to handle a firearm.

Legal Compliance Focus

The Firearms Control Act 60/2000 sets strict requirements for anyone who possesses, carries or uses a firearm in the workplace. Our program is designed so that you leave with:

• A clear understanding of your legal obligations as a firearm holder
• Documented competency for licence applications (SAPS 517 / 271)
• Registered qualification records with SAQA and SASSETA

Career Pathways

This qualification enables learners to legally work with or be in possession of a firearm in the daily performance of security duties — armed response, cash-in-transit, executive protection, NKP guarding, VIP protection and armed patrol roles.
