Protecting information, personnel and property on South Africa's strategic National Reserves — aligned with the SAQA curriculum effective 1 January 2010.
The National Key Point programme establishes measures for the protection of information, personnel and property against hostile persons, influences and actions on strategic National Reserves.
Although the South African Police Service (SAPS) is responsible for maintaining law and order and investigating crime, the Private Sector is also responsible for protecting areas of economic importance. NuLaw's NKP training equips learners to discharge these duties under the full framework of South African law.
The old National Key Point curriculum was scrapped by SAQA and replaced with an aligned curriculum which came into effect on 1 January 2010. Any training based on the old curriculum is no longer recognised.
Service providers must ensure their training provider is compliant with the new curriculum. NuLaw's NKP program is fully aligned with the current SAQA and SAPS requirements.
NKP-certified officers protect South Africa's most critical infrastructure — power stations, airports, water facilities, communications hubs and government installations. This qualification is a mandatory requirement for guarding declared National Key Points.
